Anita Moon

Anita Moon, age 94, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born Mary Anita McWilliams, the daughter of Michael and Emma (Sullivan) McWilliams on January 29, 1920 in New Diggings Township, Wisconsin. She grew up in the Shullsburg area, graduating from Shullsburg High School in 1938. Anita attended cosmetology school in Milwaukee, and received her license in 1939, and started her career in Lancaster. She married Corwin A. Moon on July 3, 1943 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. In 1950, Anita opened Your Beaute Salon, which she operated until March 2010. The closing of her beauty parlor marked 71 years as a Lancaster business owner and beautician. Anita was a devoted member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster, the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters. She was known for her faith, friendliness, and willingness to make sacrifices for others, stating that It would kill me to stay angry at anyone.

Surviving is a son Reverend Michael Moon of Bellville, and many nieces and nephews of the Mc Williams family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Corwin in 1986, who was a Lancaster barber for many years. Her brother Cecil McWilliams, sister in law Eileen (Don) McWilliams-Pluemer, and a great- great niece, McKenna.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster, with Fr. Michael Moon officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Friends called on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster, where a 4:00 p.m. parish rosary will be prayed. Friends also called on Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. Bert C. Moore

Bert C. Moore, age 93, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2015, at the Lancaster Care Center. He was born on May 10, 1921 in Clayton Township, Crawford County, Wisconsin, the son of Arch and Pearl (Potter) Moore. Bert graduated from Gays Mills High School. He enlisted in the United States Army serving his country during World War II. On October 8, 1947, Bert was united in marriage to Mabel Hanson at Mt. Sterling Lutheran Church. He was employed with the Interstate Power Company, retiring from Alliant Energy after thirty-four years as the local manager.

Bert enjoyed flying, fishing, hunting, reading and fixing things. He was a member of the Lancaster United Methodist Church, the Zor Shriners, the Free & Accepted Masonic Warren Lodge No. 4 in Potosi, the Masonic Consistory, and a 65 year member of the Richard Burns American Legion Post No. 109 of Lancaster. Bert previously served as a member of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, the Grant Regional Health Center Board, and the Lancaster Industrial Commission, where he was instrumental in bringing Milprint to Lancaster. Bert volunteered for over 15 years to replace the United States flag on the dome of the Grant County Court House.

Survivors include his loving wife, Mabel; three daughters: Susan (Robert) Gensmer; Sheri (Richard) Humphrey; Stacey (Jim) Gannon; seven grandchildren: Lisa Lechner, Laura (Harold) Poston, John (Connie) Humphrey, Lindsey (Brian) Hirt, Whitney (Andrew) Rebstock, Jessica (Drew) Melby, and Drew Gannon; six great-grandchildren: Alex, Jacob, and Tyler Lechner, Carolyn and Katherine Poston, and Davis Hirt; one sister, Colleen (Shelby) Cushman; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Bert was preceded in death by his siblings: Frank, Dale, Wesley, twin brother Berlie, Sylvia, Blanche, Velma, and Esther.

Memorial services with military honors were held on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church with Reverend Barbara Cook officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Friday, February 13, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Lancaster United Methodist Church where a 4:00 p.m. Masonic Service was held. Brenda and Mark Moore

Mark C. Moore, age 53, and Brenda M. Moore, age 48, both of Wauzeka, died on Saturday, July 31, 2010, as a result of an automobile accident in Bloomington Township. Mark was born on May 3, 1957, in Prairie du Chien, the son of Norbert and Marjorie (Kress) Moore. Brenda was born on February 25, 1962, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Lyle and Helen (Purkapile) Potter. They both graduated from Bloomington High School. In 1980, Mark began his employment with 3M in Prairie du Chien. On December 22, 1984, Mark and Brenda were united in marriage at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Brenda was previously employed at Cabelas in Prairie du Chien and enjoyed being a homemaker. They loved traveling, hunting, fishing, and camping. Mark and Brenda enjoyed anything that involved being together as a family. Mark also enjoyed antique cars and playing the drums and Brenda loved to cook and care for her family.

Survivors include their children: Kurt (Janet Dudak) Moore, Manchester, IA; Tanya (Robert Carr) Moore, Wauzeka; Marks parents, Marge and Norb Moore, Bloomington; Brendas mother, Helen Potter, Bloomington; Brendas siblings: Bev Teasley, Cabot, Arkansas; Mike (Karen) Potter, Potosi; Dave (Janice Beall) Potter, Cassville; Betty (Jerry Cromwell) Nelson, Cassville; Trudi Cromwell, Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews.

Mark and Brenda were preceded in death by a son, Jim Moore, Brendas father, Lyle Potter, and Brendas nephew, Clint Potter.

Funeral services were held on Friday, August 6, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington with Reverend Mary Ann Floerke officiating. Burial was in Linden Cemetery, Linden. Dale Moore

Dale W. Moore, age 94, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016. He was born on July 19, 1921, in Wyalusing Township, the son of Ward and Gladys (Bohringer) Moore. Dale attended school at Bloomington and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1939. In 1941, he was united in marriage to Marcia Fuller. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Lancaster. Dale owned and operated a gravel truck and hauled products for Becker & Tuckwood. Later in life, Dale was employed by Lancaster Community School District as a bus driver and school maintenance man. When the rural schools closed, he worked as custodian for Winskill Elementary School and later for Lancaster State Bank as a custodian and maintenance man. After his retirement, Dale made his home in Cassville. He met Stella Wendlandt, whom he kept close company with until his death. Together they enjoyed traveling, dancing and listening to music. On Sundays, the couple would travel to Cassville where they shared joy in the river, boats and Nelson Dewey Park.

Survivors include his dear friend, Stella Wendlandt; three grandchildren: Chad (Mary) Moore, Christopher (Cristi) Moore, and Angela (Jack) Burke, and their mother, Kathryn (Charles) Hernett; great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donald Funk; nieces, nephews and friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his son, Dennis; a sister, Hazel Funk; and his former wife, Marcia.

Grave side services were held on Friday, March 25, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster, with Bill Manthe officiating. Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is serving the family.

David C. Moore

David C. Moore, age 56, of Bloomington, died on Monday, May 6, 2013, at St. Marys Hospital in Madison. He was born on August 29, 1956, in Prairie du Chien, the son of Glen and Patricia (Hyer) Moore. David graduated from Bloomington High School in 1974. On September 14, 1985, he was united in marriage to Carol A. Rice. David was employed with River Ridge Middle School as a custodian for over twenty-six years and in his spare time worked in construction pouring concrete. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, camping, and fishing. David spent his free time playing cards, woodworking, spending time with the grandchildren and grilling chicken with the family on Sunday nights.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carol A. Moore; their children: Craig (Cindy) Krantz; Christy (Jerry) Krantz; Daniel (Augusta) Moore; Douglas (Ashley) Moore; Connie (Tyson) Moore; seven grandchildren: Carter, Landon, Cameron, Caleigh, Ashlyn, Adalyn, and Ivanelle; his siblings: Glenda Eck; Carol Giombi; Ronnie (Denise) Moore; Dale Moore; his mother, Patricia (Jake) Weaver; his mother-in-law, June Rice; his brothers-in-law: Richard Rice and Tom (Pam) Rice; other relatives and many friends.

David was preceded in death by his father, Glen; his grandparents, Ralph and Sylvina Hyer; his father-in-law, Ron Rice; and Alberta Kalinowski.

Dr. Donald G. Moore

Dr. Donald Don G. Moore, age 59, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on May 26, 1952, in Lancaster, the son of Gereld and Betty (VanNatta) Moore. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1970 and attended Southwest Technical College. Don entered the United States Army and served his country until his honorable discharge in 1973. He furthered his education at the University of Wisconsin at Platteville and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Palmer Chiropractic College in 1980. Don was united in marriage to Nancy Hutchcroft on July 31, 1981, at the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster. Don practiced Chiropractic medicine in Darlington for twenty-one years and in Lancaster for twelve years. He enjoyed hunting, tinkering with his jeeps, and outdoor work. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his greatest passion was reading and studying the Bible. Don was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, member and commander of the Thorpe-Taylor American Legion Post No. 551 of Beetown, the Grant County 40&8 Voiture # 1372, and the Disabled American Veterans.

Marcia L. Moore

Marcia L. (Fuller) Moore, age 88, of Lancaster,died Friday, January 14, 2011, at the Lancaster Care Center after an extended illness. She was born on December 8, 1922, in Lancaster, the daughter of John A. and Thelma (Leighty) Fuller. Marcia grew up in the Lancaster and Beetown area. She was employed with the Lancaster Community School District in the kitchen for many years. Marcia was a member of the Beetown Gospel Hall.

Memorial Services were held Wednesday, January 19, 2001, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lancaster Care Center Chapel. Private family burial was in the Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Paul M. Moore

Paul M. Moore, age 69, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at UW Hospitals in Madison. He was born on June 21, 1941, in Slabtown, the son of Harley and Leone (Ames) Moore. On June 15, 1963, Paul was united in marriage to Alice LaMere at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Paul was a very busy man who didnt sit still for very long. He thoroughly enjoyed his family. His four children and his grandchildren were his pride and joy. Paul enjoyed time spent at the holidays and attending the various events for his grandchildren. He will miss his Mas Bakery Crew with whom he spent nearly every Saturday morning gathering for coffee and breakfast with his son, Derek.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Alice Moore; daughter, Paula (Steve) Landon, Zach, Jen, and Brent; daughter, Susan (Paul) Zenz, Calvin, Nikki, Amanda and Phillip; daughter, Billiejo (Dan Hyer) Moore, John, Austin, Alysa; and son, Derek (Stephanie Pitzen) Moore, Trent and Sydney; extra special great-granddaughter, Malorie; sisters: Lorraine Klaas, Judy (Charlie) Kuenster, and Linda (Ted) Wilson; brothers: Allen (Mary), Harley Joe (Vivian), and Larry (Peg) Moore; sister-in-law, Jann (Terry) McCann; brothers-in-law, Jim (Sandy) LaMere and Gaylord LaMere; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brothers: Jerry (Betty), Johnny (Evelyn) and Floyd Klaas; in-laws: Raymond, Ivanelle, and Dennis LaMere; niece and nephews, Dixie and Denny Lau, and Craig LaMere.

Ruth M. Moore

Ruth M. Moore, age 98, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, January 29, 2008, at the Lancaster Care Center, Lancaster. She was born on August 11, 1909, in Iowa County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harry and Grace (Richardson) McIntosh. Ruth was united in marriage to Victor Moore on August 11, 1926, in Galena, IL. Together they owned and operated Garrison Grove Cheese Factory in Dodgeville and Ideal Cheese Factory in Fennimore. Later they operated Homer Cheese Factory in Hickory Grove Township. In 1970, the couple retired and moved to Lancaster. Ruth was a member of the Calvary Community Church in Lancaster. Her main goal in life was to be a homemaker and raise her family. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters: Eileen Rice, Lancaster; Marilyn (Roger) Hirsch, Dodgeville; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great grandchildren; one sister: Joyce Brandes, Boscobel; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Victor in 1998; a daughter, Carolyn Gardner; two sons-in-law, Gerald Gardner and Claudie Rice Jr., one sister: Edith Mahoney; brothers: Milo, Vernon Bud, Kenneth, and Glen; and a grandson-in-law, Darryl Gallinger.

Funeral services were held on Friday, February 1, 2008, at the Lancaster Care Center Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor David Arevalo officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Mineral Point. Joseph M. Moraski

Joseph M. Moraski, age 66, of Cassville died on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, in Cassville. He was born on October 13, 1941, in Kewanee, IL, the son of Joseph and Josephine (Shuster) Moraski. He attended Kewanee High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1959. Joe entered into the United State Army and served his country in Vietnam. Upon his honorable discharge, he was employed with Illinois Power in Forestry for thirty-one years. After his retirement, Joe relocated to the Cassville area where he enjoyed camping, fishing, dancing, singing and playing the guitar. He was the kind of man who loved to help anyone he could. He was a member of the River Valley Community Church and the VFW Post No. 7080 of Cassville.

Survivors include his daughters, Sonia Moraski, Davenport; Rhonda Fuller, Bettendorf; two grandsons, Drake and AJ Fuller, Bettendorf; his special friend and companion, Pat Walsh, Cassville; his sisters, Joyce Flannery, Milan, IL; Jackie Gruszeczka, Moline, IL; his former wife, Sandy Moraski, Kewanee; and a great many friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents.

Carol C. Moris

Carol C. Moris, age 88 of Bloomington, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Lancaster. She was born June 26, 1927, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Breuer) Hampton. Carol married John C. Moris on October 15, 1945, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington. She was employed at Bloomington State Bank and later at Stonefield Historical Site in Cassville. Carol was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, and her card club.

Surviving her are three sisters-in-law: Clara and Eleanor Mumm and Alma Moris, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John in 2009; her siblings: Edith Johnson, Lena Dresen, Retha Jackering, Florence Heberlein, Dorothy Paulus, and George, Leon, Eugene, and Elmer Hampton.

John C. Moris

John C. Moris, age 87, of Bloomington, died on Monday, September 28, 2009, at his home. He was born on May 30, 1922, in Bloomington, the son of Peter and Eleanora (Crubel) Moris. John enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 and served his country in Europe and was honorably discharged in January of 1946. John was united in marriage to Carol C. Hampton on October 15, 1945, at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington. After their marriage, John worked as a carpenter at Walz Lumber in Glen Haven for many years. He also worked as a self-employed carpenter and electrician. After retiring, John purchased a hobby farm in Bloomington Township. He loved going to auction sales and was a collector. John was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 4416, and Abraham-Hickok Wetmore American Legion Post No. 148 of Bloomington. He and Carol also enjoyed dancing.

John is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol Moris, Bloomington; three sisters: Mathilda Yunk, Clara Mumm, and Eleanor Mumm, all of Cassville; two sisters-in-law: Florence Heberlein, Lancaster; Alma Moris, Mt. Hope; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Edward (Agnes) Moris, Jim (Mildred) Moris and Peter Moris; three brothers-in-law: Gerald Yunk, Loren Mumm, and Walter Mumm.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington with Father Bart Timmerman officiating. Burial with military honors was in St. Marys Cemetery, Bloomington. Mildred M. Moris

Mildred M. Moris, age 82, of Glen Haven, died on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born on November 1, 1925, in Cassville Township, the daughter of Adam and Susie (Rauch) Mumm. Mildred graduated from Cassville High School in 1943. She graduated from Platteville Normal Teachers College in 1945 and taught in the Ramsey school house. Mildred married James W. Moris in June 1949 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Glen Haven, a founding member of the Bloomington Homemakers Club and a Blakes Prairie Fair Superintendent for many years. She enjoyed keeping up with her familys activities, and in her spare time she enjoyed china painting.

Surviving are her children: Mary Rose (John) Rush, Platteville; Jim (fianc Deanna Dietrich) Moris, Cassville; Tony (Michelle) Moris, Eastman; seven grandchildren: Jon, Chris, and Becky Rush, Robert, Matthew, Halley, and Hunter Moris; her foster son, Tom (Kathy) Cramer and their children, Kyle and Amanda, St. Charles, MN; a brother, Ambrose (Gerry) Mumm, Cassville; two sisters: Irene Smith, Darlington; Bernice (Cecil) Anderson, Madison; two sisters-in-law: Germaine Mumm, Lancaster; Patricia Mumm, Cassville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her brothers, John, Vincent, Carl, Maurice, and Kenneth, her two sisters, Agnes Moris and Florence Kohlstedt.

Ivan L. Morrow

Ivan L. Morrow, age 78, of Mount Hope, died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the University Hospitals in Madison. He was born on February 24, 1931, in Little Grant Township, the son of Archie and Genevieve (Griswold) Morrow. Ivan graduated from Lancaster High School. On October 8, 1954, Ivan was united in marriage to Marian Muldoon at the Lancaster Congregational Church in Lancaster. After their marriage, the couple purchased a farm in Little Grant Township, which they farmed for over fifty years. Ivan enjoyed the farm life and dearly loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his children: Jerry (Rosalee) Morrow; Jamie Morrow, all of Mt. Hope; six grandchildren: Joey (Jody) Morrow, Jennifer (Dan) Cooley, Matthew, Justin, Blake and Jessica Morrow, all of Mt. Hope; seven great-grandsons: Austin, Aidan, Avery, Alec Morrow, Archibald, William and Samuel Cooley, all of Mt. Hope; his brothers and sisters: Ardis Kasper, Bettendorf, IA; Lyle Morrow, Lancaster; Phyllis (Burdette) Pagenkopf, Lancaster; Katherine (Francis) Pluemer, Livingston; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ivan was preceded in death by his wife, Marian, a grandson, Lucas and his brothers and sisters: Margie Ohlert, Myrna Starrett, Virgil Morrow, Leonard Morrow and Marilyn Rech.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lancaster Congregational Church in Lancaster with Rev. Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in Little Grant Cemetery, Little Grant Township. Peggy S. Morse

Peggy S. Morse, age 91, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster. She was born on December 27, 1921, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Frederick Donald and Hope Schreiber. Peggy married Edward Morse, Jr. in Madison in 1943 and followed him to San Francisco where she lived and worked while he was at sea. Peggy moved with Eddie back to Lancaster after the war. She raised two children, Daniel and Martha. Her passions through out her life were gardening, playing bridge, fishing Grant County trout streams and, of course, her beloved Girl Scouts. She was also a long time member of PEO. Peggy always had a smile on her face and will be missed by many members of this community.

Survivors include her two children: Daniel Morse and Martha (Kurt) Forget; her sister, Jean Prokopow; grandchildren: Jason and Crystal Morse; great-grandson Kane Morse; her close friend and sister-in-law, Marmie Morse Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews who often thought of her as their "other" mother.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, July 18, 2013, at 4:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster. Private family burial was held in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home. In keeping with Peggy's wishes her Garden Club will be providing flowers for her service. John Muldoon

John E. Jack Muldoon, age 78, of Lancaster, died on Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home from a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 4, 1935, in Milwaukee, the son of Leo and Vera (Vesperman) Muldoon. Jack graduated from Lancaster High School in 1953. He was a farmer all his life in South Lancaster Township. Jack took over the family farm after his father passed away in 1974 and remained on the family farm until his passing. He enjoyed riding around the farm on his Polaris with his dog, Misty. Jack also loved gardening and was always interested in anything to do with farming. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Green Bay Packers, Chicago White Sox and the Milwaukee Brewers. In his younger days, he played league softball and coached softball for many years. Jack loved to socialize and meet his friends at A&W for coffee. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his two sisters: Beverly (Floyd) Ihm, Lancaster; Mary (William) Leibfried, Hazel Green; Mark (Diane) Muldoon, Lancaster; many nieces and nephews.

Clifford A. Muller

Clifford A. Muller, age 91, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born on October 3, 1920, in Tennyson, the son of Philip and Elizabeth (Holzer) Muller. Clifford attended St. Andrew Catholic School in Tennyson. On October 7, 1941, he was united in marriage to Marie Winkler at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson. Clifford served his country during World War II and the Normandy Invasion. He went in with the second wave at Omaha Beach. Clifford was honorably discharged in 1945 and was awarded a Good Conduct Ribbon, Purple Heart, American Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal, and a European Theater Ribbon with a bronze star. Clifford was employed with the Grant County Highway Department for thirty-nine years as a Heavy Equipment Operator, retiring in 1982. He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church where he served as an usher, the Knights of Columbus, the William Pollock VFW Post No. 2344, DAV Chapter 40, and served as a board member for the housing authority at Sunrise Valley Apartments for fifteen years. Clifford enjoyed woodworking, going on bus tours, gardening, fixing appliances for family and friends, playing cards at Zippys and family gatherings.

Survivors include his loving wife of seventy years, Marie Muller, Lancaster; their children: Carol Jean (Fred) Gensmer, Janesville; Thomas (Verna) Muller, Montgomery, IL; James (Donna) Muller, Stitzer; three grandchildren: Michael (Katie) Muller, Hanover Park, IL; Shelly (Roger) Swenson, Oregon; Phillip Gensmer, Janesville; four great-grandchildren; his sisters: Edna Gillen, Dickeyville; Marcie (Martin) Kieler; Viola (Robert) Necker; Marion Welter; Betty Jansen, all of Kieler; Isabel (Robert) Dare; Patricia (Joe) Kaster, all of Janesville; his sister-in-law: Clotilda Muller, Kieler; his brothers-in-law: Cecil Hinderman, Dickeyville; Francis Kieler, Kieler; grandson-in-law, Brian Wheeler, Lee, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Clifford was preceded in death by his brother and sisters: Irvin, Mary Kay Muller, Freda Pluemer, Bernetta Hinderman, and Margaretta Kieler; two grandchildren: Jeffrey Muller and Cathy Wheeler; his brothers-in-law: Philbert Pluemer, Jerry Jansen, Floyd Gillen, and Robert Richard.

Gregory R. Muller

Gregory R. Muller, age 66, of Cassville, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011 in the company of family. Greg was born on March 25, 1945, in Dubuque , IA , the son of Alfred and Stella (Pluemer) Muller. Raised in Tennyson , WI , he grew up working at his father's garage, The Muller Garage. He attended Potosi High school , graduating with the class of 1963. After high school, Greg entered college at St. John's University in Collegeville , MN , where he received a B.S. in Chemistry in 1967. After completing college, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1967, where he served in numerous locations both in the U.S. and abroad. With more than 21 years of service, he retired from the Air Force in 1987 with the rank of Major. Following his retirement, he entered employment with McDonnell Douglas in CA in 1988 as an Aeronautical Engineer. He relocated to St. Louis , MO , where he worked for Boeing until he retired in 2010, to Gods country, Cassville WI . Greg loved spending time fishing and boating on the river, flying and watching the Packers.

Survivors include his children, Andrea (Kyle Hoff) Muller and Robert Muller; and a sister, Mary Ester (Bob) White.

In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by his sisters, Bernita Catherine Gallagher, Rose Mary Ann Baumann, Dolores Mary Kennedy; and his brother, Norbert John Muller.

Funeral services were held at 11 am on Saturday, August, 13, 2011, at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Tennyson, with Father Richard Leffler officiating. Graveside Services with Military Honors was in St. Andrews Cemetery. Visitation was held from 4 -7 pm on Friday, August 12, at St. Andrews Catholic Church, and one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Martin Funeral Home in Potosi is serving his family.

Ambrose Mumm

Ambrose Adam Mumm, age 82, of Cassville, WI, passed away September 7, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Ambrose was born to Adam and Susan (Rauch) Mumm on September 25, 1932. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955. Ambrose married Geraldine Esser on September 17, 1957 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville. He worked at the Cassville Creamery and at Schauff and Kirschbaum Plumbing & Heating. On February 1, 1958, Ambrose and Gerry purchased a farm in rural Cassville, where they farmed until moving to Cassville in 1990.

He was an active member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the Mumm-Welsh American Legion Post 352, both of Cassville. Ambrose enjoyed fishing and playing cards, shooting pool, bowling and pitching horseshoes. He spent many hours putting jigsaw puzzles together. Ambrose liked making and sharing wine with his family and friends. He loved spending time with his grandkids.

Ambrose is survived by his wife, Gerry; his six sons, Jim (Sue) of Lancaster, Dan (Deanna) of Tomah, Jerry (Christy) of Cassville, Dean (Jenny) of Janesville, Al (Judy) of Lancaster, Pete (Lisa) of Platteville; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his sisters Irene Smith and Bernice (Cecil) Anderson, special niece and nephew, Tim and Deb Mumm. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Pat E. Mumm and Germaine Mumm, and by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, John, Vince, Carl (Delores), Morrie, and Ken; and his sisters, Agnes (Edward) Moris, Mildred (James) Moris, and Florence (Elmer) Kohlstedt, and a brother in law, Red Smith.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville, with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Burial with military honors was in St. Mary's Settlement Cemetery, Cassville. Carol Mumm

Carol A. Mumm, age 66, of Bloomington, died unexpectedly on Monday, April 3, 2017, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster surrounded by her caring family. She was born on September 7, 1950, in Prairie du Chien, the daughter of Gerald and Dolores (White) Ploessl. Carol graduated from Bloomington High School in 1968. She then attended Madison Area Technical College in 1969. On January 29, 1972, Carol was united in marriage to Thomas L. Mumm at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington. Together they raised four children and farmed in rural Bloomington until the fall of 1988. They later moved into Bloomington where they currently reside. Carol was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington. She was a stay-at-home mom, later employed at Shakeproof in Lancaster and then Unified Community Services where she was employed for over 20 years, retiring in 2014. Carol loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, board games, and watching the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, HGTV, and many cooking shows in which she tried many of the recipes.

Carol dearly loved her family: her loving husband, four children, and five grandchildren. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend. Carol will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Tom; their four children: Jason and Adam at home, Brian (Sharon) Mumm, Bloomington; Kelli (Steve) Pfenning, Prairie du Chien; five precious grandchildren: Nicholas, Logan, and Alexis Mumm and Steven and Devon Pfenning; her siblings: Peg (Doug) Vanderbilt; Marcia (Scott) Stiwel; Jane (Ernie) Dallam; Sheri Ott; Jerry Ploessl; Jeff (Tara Brickson) Ploessl; Gene (Kate) Ploessl; Kevin (Michelle) Ploessl; in-laws: Charlene Ploessl; Janice (Dave) Anderson; Harry (Sandy) Mumm; Cindy (Phil) Nies; Cheryl (Tim) Spaeth; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Ploessl; her mother and father-in-law, Carl and Delores Mumm; and her brothers-in-law: Dick Mumm and Jim Kolman.

Cindy M. Mumm

Cindy M. Mumm, age 32, of Bloomington, died on Sunday, April 12, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, IA. She was born on December 24, 1976, in Lancaster, the daughter of Michael and Kathleen (Hampton) Mumm. Cindy graduated from Bloomington High School in 1995. She then attended Capri College of Cosmetology in Dubuque. Cindy was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington and was a very active member of the Bloomington Sportsmans Club. She enjoyed fishing, trap shooting, and gourmet cooking. Cindy dearly loved her nieces and nephews.

Survivors include her parents, Mike (Kathy) Mumm, Glen Haven; one sister, Laura (Steve) Connelly, Lansing, IA; two brothers: Fred (Fianc Kathy Hestetune) Mumm, Fennimore; A1C Ben Mumm, Shaw AFB, SC; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Mumm, Bloomington; her maternal grandmother, Florence (Jack) Foster, Patch Grove; many aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.

Cindy was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Donald Mumm and James Hampton; and a cousin, Chloe Vogt.

Cyril J. Mumm

Cyril J. Mumm, age 81, of Cassville, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. He was born on June 20, 1931, on the family farm near Cassville, the son of Fred and Cecelia (Dresen) Mumm. Cyril attended country school and St. Charles Catholic School. He served his country in the National Guard. On April 29, 1952, Cyril was united in marriage to Alvina Meyer at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington. After their marriage the couple farmed his family farm for many years. Cyril was drafted during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954. In 1986, he and Alvina moved into Cassville where Cyril enjoyed woodworking. He also enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre and 500. Cyril liked putting puzzles together and taking bus trips with Alvina. His greatest joy was his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cyril was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and the Catholic Knights.

Survivors include his loving wife, Alvina Mumm, Lancaster; their children: Ruth (Mark) Adrian, Cassville; CarolynKay (Stan) Hampton, Glen Haven; Ralph (friend Barb) Mumm, Cassville; Chris (Wayne) Brouillard, Alma; Roy (Dawne) Mumm, Cassville; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marcella Vondrum, Lancaster; Delores Kirschbaum, Bloomington; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Cyril was preceded in death by two children, Brenda and Doug; a granddaughter, Sherri Mumm; a great-grandson, William Mink; two brothers: Donald and Loren Mumm; and one sister, Hilda Breuer.

Germaine Mumm

Germaine H. Mumm, age 87, of Lancaster, passed away on Wednesday, February 03, 2016, at Atrium Post Acute Care in Lancaster with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 28, 1928, in Bloomington on the family farm, the daughter of Edward and Frances (Crubel) Weber. Germaine attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Bloomington. On January 13, 1948, she was united in marriage to Vincent Mumm at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomington. After their marriage, the couple farmed in the Bloomington area until their retirement in 1983. After retirement, Germaine cared for the elderly in their homes for many years. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She dearly loved taking care of them and keeping up with their activities. Germaine was deeply devoted to her faith and prayed the rosary daily. She was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and the CCW, was the President of St. Mary's Catholic Church Catholic Daughters in Bloomington and was a member of the Catholic Knights. Germaine enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, quilting and playing a good game of poker or euchre.

Survivors include her seven children: Bob (Kitty) Mumm, Lancaster; Ginny (Larry) Snider, Lancaster; Shirley (Dave) Stelpflug, Fennimore; Gary (Sue) Mumm, Lancaster; Larry (Elaine) Mumm, Bloomington; Ronnie (Rose) Mumm, Bloomington; Jane (Tony) Meekma, Platteville; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Mary Ann Harter, Oregon, WI; Gerry (Val) Weber, Arizona; sister-in-law: Mary Weber, Marion, IA; brothers-in-law, James Blum, Glen Haven; Jim Ley, Lancaster; sisters-in-law: Irene Smith, Darlington; Bernice (Cecil) Anderson, Monona; Pat Mumm, Cassville; Gerri Mumm, Cassville; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Germaine was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent; great-granddaughter, Caitlin Recker; her siblings: LuLu Mae (Ed) Vogt; Bernice Weber; Kate Ley; Frances Blum; Margaret (Burnell) Breuer; Virgil (Connie) Weber; Edward Weber, Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Bob Harter.

Helen E. Mumm

Helen Elaine Mumm, age 64, of Patch Grove, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 26, 2011. She was born on October 30, 1946, in rural Cassville, the daughter of Lloyd and Stella (Nickel) Yager.

Upon graduating from Cassville High School in 1964, she worked at both the Potosi and Cassville newspapers before working at Okeys Market for over twenty years, followed by more than five years at the Methodist Church in Bloomington. Helen loved the outdoors, with mushroom hunting in the spring and growing her garden and flowers in the summer. She treasured all her collections of recipes, chickadee figurines, John Wayne memorabilia, and orchids. Helen was also very creative in writing dedications and would often write a poem to honor a significant event.

In January 1969, she married Dave Mumm in Cassville and they raised three children in Glen Haven. Helen found great pride and joy in her family, planning annual family reunions and researching family history for over fifty years. She was always willing to help anyone starting in genealogy or share her own findings on the family tree. Helen thoroughly adored her grandchildren and was a firm believer in the motto of spoiling them before sending them home.

She will be missed dearly by her husband of forty-two years, Dave Mumm, Patch Grove; her children: Todd (Stephanie) Mumm, Platteville; Shawn (Lori) Mumm, Cassville; Jackie (Mike) Rymarz, Prairie du Chien; grandchildren: Jenna, Cheyenne, and Sierra Mumm, Jake and Josh Bolden; her brother, Larry Yager, Potosi; her sister, Janet (Bob) Pohle, Cassville; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by a brother, David A. Yager.

Elizabeth Lau Muntz

Elizabeth "Liz" E. Muntz (Lau), age 91, formerly of Cassville, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the Guttenberg Care Center in Guttenberg , Iowa . She was born on April 19, 1919 in Dubuque , Iowa , the daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Jellison) Maas . Liz worked in the meat market, farmed with her husband, and owned the tavern, Lost Night in Cassville, retiring in 1999. She liked to play bingo, watch westerns on television and loved to dance.

Liz is survived by six children: Margie (Lyle) Smith, Dubuque, IA; Frank (Nellie) Muntz, Englewood, FL; Joan Nauman, Dubuque, IA; Dan (Rose) Muntz, Sedalia, MO; Betty (Ronnie) Gile, Dubuque, IA and Joe (Betty) Muntz, Guttenberg, IA; 35 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; lots of great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mert Valentine, Lancaster; a daughter-in-law, Roberta Muntz, Lancaster; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Frank Muntz and Chris Lau; her son, Jake Muntz and her daughter, Florence (Tony) Zenz; a grandson, Billy Muntz; ten brothers and seven sisters.

Private Graveside services will be held at a later date at Cassville Cemetery, Cassville. Martin Funeral Home in Cassville is serving the family.

Roberta Muntz

Roberta L. Muntz, age 55 of Lancaster, formerly of Cassville, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Grant Regional Health Center. She was born July 14, 1960 the daughter of Robert and Rose (Ward) Bohringer. Roberta attended St. Charles Catholic School and graduated from Cassville High School in 1978. She married Dorrance "Jake" Muntz at St. Perter's Lutheran Church in Cassville. Roberta received her nursing degree from Southwest Technical College in Fennimore. She was employed at Lancaster Care Center, Good Samaritan Center in Fennimore, and currently at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. Roberta dearly loved keeping up with her family, co-workers, past and present, and nursing home residents.

Surviving are her parents; Bob and Rose Bohringer, siblings; Ronda (Jeff) Lenz and Rachel, Richard (Mary), and Roger (Penny) Bohringer. Step children Christine Vogt and Eric Wilson, five step grandchildren, nieces, nephews, two great nephews, a special great niece, Lexi Bohringer, and her dog Chewy.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Jake, a step son Bill Muntz, her fiance' Nick Adrian, her aunt Ruth Knoke and cousins Kristine Keene and Steve Wolter.

Judith Murray

Judith C. "Judy" Murray, age 84, of Cassville, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at her home. She was born on August 10, 1930, in Chicago, the daughter of Thorger and Judith Myrold. Judy moved to Norway with her parents when she was a toddler. She came back to the United States when she was twenty-one. Judy then moved to Milwaukee and worked as a nanny. It was there that she met Claude Murray. They were united in marriage on May 23, 1955. After their marriage, the couple moved around Wisconsin and eventually settled in Cassville. Judy was a homemaker and worked at the flower shop part-time while she raised her family. She enjoyed her friends, family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: James A. (Grace) Murray, Belleville; Debra (Gary) Dresen, Cassville; John (Anne) Murray, Oregon; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; a sister, Marit (Arnie) Haland, Norway; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Claude.

Memorial services were held on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at River Valley Community Church Fellowship Center, 1035 Jack Oak Rd., Cassville, with Pastor Don Zahurance officiating. Burial will be at a later date at the Myrold family burial site in Norway. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Cassville is assisting the family.

William J. Murray

William J. Murray, age 76, ascended into heaven on Friday, August 8, 2014, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born January 7, 1938, the son of William R. Murray and Ivanelle P. (Key) Murray, the eldest of seven children. On April 4, 1959, he was united in marriage to Connie M. Novinski at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster, WI.

Bill graduated from St. Clement grade school and Loras High School in Dubuque, IA. He later graduated from UW-Platteville College of Mining and Engineering. Bill dedicated his life to his family, the community and the family business, Murray Electric, Inc. He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church and served on the parish council. Bill was also a Board of Director for Union Bank & Trust, which later became F & M Bank.

He was loved dearly by his wife of 55 years, Connie and his six children: William III (Vicki), Daniel (Laura), James (Janelle), John (Deb), Sheila (Doug Engbring), and Kim. He was loved and admired by his brothers and sisters: Timothy (Elaine), Michael (Christine), Colleen (Dan) Aspinwall, Katherine (David) Frommelt, and Terry (Debbie) Murray. He deeply cherished his grandchildren: Joseph, William IV, Ryan, Timothy, Erin, Connor, Sean and all of his nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law, Bonnie (Bob) Sutton and her children Kelly (Todd) Taylor and Michael Jerrett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ivanelle, his loving sister, Mary Patricia Patty Kerr-Towne, and his in-laws, Ferdinand Mike and Hilda (Stoney) Novinski.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Private family burial will be held at a later date. Family and friends called on Monday, August 11, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church, Lancaster. Friends also called on Tuesday from 10:00am until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants, flowers, and gifts, a William J. Murray memorial fund has been established.

Glen Myers

Glen J. Myers, age 82 passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. He was born August 2, 1931 in Beetown Township, the son of Russell and Catherine (Neis) Myers. Glen graduated Bloomington High School in 1949. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1951, and served for four years. Glen married Margaret A. OConnor on November 3, 1954 and together they farmed in Bloomington Township. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and American Legion Post #5 of Patch Grove.

Glen is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Margaret, his children: Mary (Paul) Wiley, Kenneth (Peggy), Carl (Melanie), Allen (Bonnie), and Conrad (Wendy) Myers; ten grandchildren; a brother Gene (Darlene) Myers; two sister-in-laws Betty Myers and Catherine Friar, and nieces and nephews.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Ryan Myers, his brother Paul and a brother-in-law Clement Friar.

Funeral services were held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington, with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Burial with military honors was in St. Marys Cemetery. Friends called on Thursday, December 5, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Glen J. Myers memorial fund has been established. The Martin Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family.

Inez H. Myers

Inez H. Myers, age 94, of Glen Haven, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at her home. She was born on September 4, 1917, on the family farm in Glen Haven, the daughter of Frank and Ida (Vorwald) Koelker. Inez attended Muscallounge country school and St. Marys Catholic School. On November 6, 1935, she was united in marriage to Roy Myers at Galena, Illinois. After their marriage, the couple farmed near Glen Haven. Inez and Roy enjoyed dancing. They were the first couple to dance on the dance floor of the Checkerboard in Prairie du Chien. Roy and Inez also enjoyed attending horse sales. Inez enjoyed crocheting, sewing and cooking. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Tim Myers, Glen Haven; Roy (Janice) Myers, Jr., Glen Haven; Karen (Robert) Harris, Prairie du Chien; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters-in-law: Hildegarde Myers, Marjorie Wilson and Mary Krause, all of Janesville; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Roy on October 18, 1997, and three brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 28, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial was at a later date. Family and friends called on Saturday from 12:00 noon until time of services at the funeral home.

Nell M. Myers

Nell M. Myers, age 100, of Platteville, formerly of Glen Haven died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at Our House Senior Living in Platteville. She was born on July 23, 1908 in Glen Haven Township, the daughter of Myron and Lulu (Ryan) Myers. Nell received a nursing degree in 1929 from the University of Wisconsin Madison.

Nell is survived by three nephews and one niece: Myron Bud (Janet) Myers, Danville, IN, Mike (Colleen) Myers, Platteville, Grady (Linda) Chonister, Springfield, IL and Martha (Larry) Nagle, Grand Rapids, MN.

She was preceded in death by her three siblings, Lucille, Alice Chronister and Myron A. Myers.

Private family services were held at a later date. Burial of her cremains were held in Blakes Prairie Cemetery, Town of Bloomington. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville/Bloomington is serving the family.

Roger A. Myers

Roger A. Myers, age 65, of Lancaster, died on Friday, August 1, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa. He was born on October 24, 1942, in Lancaster, the son of Harley and Ruth (Brendemuehl) Myers. On August 22, 1964, Roger married Mary Ann Kuenster at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Roger was the owner of Myers TC Beverage and prior to that, the Arizona Saddlery and the Sand Bar Supper Club. He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Myers of Lancaster; his children: Lisa (Gary) Keeney, Prairie du Chien; Chris (LeahAnn) Myers, Lancaster; eight grandchildren: Tyler, Trish, Samantha, Nate, Cody, Olivia, Tyler, and McKenna; two brothers: Jim Myers, Cedarburg and John (Kathy) Myers, Madison; mother-in-law, Betty Kuenster, Lancaster; two sisters-in-law, Peg Bublitz, Lancaster and Kristin Infield, Cassville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Doctor Judy Kuenster, his brother, Richard Myers, and a sister-in-law, Linda Myers.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Internment was private. Friends called from 9:00 a.m. until time of services on Tuesday at the church.

Warren Lee Myers

Warren L. Myers, age 89, of Beetown, died on Monday, September 12, 2011, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. He was born on April 19, 1922, in Beetown Township, the son of Warren and Elsie (Wright) Myers. Warren graduated from Bloomington High School. On December 12, 1945, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Millin. After their marriage, Warren farmed in Beetown Township. He was later employed with the ASCS, retiring in the 1980s. Warren was a talented musician and was a member of the Del Brown Band playing the trombone. He enjoyed shooting, hunting, fishing, boating, flying an airplane, which he flew solo at age sixteen, and collecting guns.

Survivors include his children: David Myers, Laura (David) Damm, and Lynn (Debra) Myers; six grandsons: Warren C. (Shona) Myers, James, and Robert Myers, Jason (Kerri) Damm, Matthew and Nathan Myers; three great-grandchildren: Brandon Myers, Ellie and Alyssa Damm; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Russell, Howard, Maude Kempthorne, and Monona Bartels.

Private family graveside services were held on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at Dodge Cemetery, Beetown Township, with Reverend Pamela Strakeljahn officiating. Family and Friends were invited to the Beetown Hall in Beetown on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at 1:30 p.m. Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington is assisting the family.

Mervin G. Myhre

Mervin G. Merv Myhre, age 78, of Bagley, died on Thursday, December 8, 2011, at Prairie Maison, Prairie du Chien. He was born on August 28, 1933, in Iowa City, IA, the son of Julian and Stella (Overhaug) Myhre. Merv attended school in Spring Grove, MN. He entered the United States Air Force and served his county during the Korean Conflict as a radio operator stationed in Alaska. In 1956, Merv was united in marriage to Treasure Brookens at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. After their marriage, the couple resided in Bloomington. Merv was employed at Hermsen Hardware in Bloomington for several years. He later was a manager for Skelgas and later Haskins Oil until his retirement. Merv was very active in the Bloomington and Bagley communities. He served on the fire department from 1963 until the present, served on the rescue squad from 1971 until 1975, and served as the secretary and treasurer for the Abraham Hickock Wetmore American Legion Post No. 148 of Bloomington. Merv loved to manage the Grass Motor Sales Softball team during the summer months. He also enjoyed bowling and socializing with the people of the Bloomington and Bagley communities. Merv was known best for his, Stay out of trouble.

Survivors include his wife, Treasure Myhre, Bagley; their children: Wayne (Michelle) Myhre, Bloomington; Scott (Pam) Myhre, Bagley; Sherry (Mike) Bartels, Avoca; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his brothers: Gerald Myhre, Belmont; Jerome (Myrna) Myhre, Georgetown, TX; a sister, Virginia Howard, Whitehall; a brother-in-law, Herb (Charlotte) Brookens, Prairie du Chie; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Merv was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Myhre; a brother-in-law, Milton Howard; and a niece, Julie.

Funeral services with military honors were held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bloomington with Father John Meinholz officiating. Burial be at a later date. Family and friends called on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers, a Mervin G. Myhre Memorial Fund has been established to benefit local volunteer organizations.

Treasure L. Myhre

Treasure L. Myhre, age 76, of Bagley, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at Prairie Maison in Prairie du Chien, WI.

Treasure was born on December 24, 1936 in Patch Grove, WI, a daughter of Elgie and Lucille (Pake) Brookens. She attended school in Bloomington. In 1956, Treasure was united in marriage to Mervin Myhre at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. After their marriage, the couple resided in Bloomington.

Treasure drove school bus for 28 years. Treasure is best known for her love of animals and garage sales. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Treasure is survived by her children, Wayne (Michelle) Myhre, Bloomington, Scott (Pam) Myhre, Bagley, and Sherry (Mike) Bartels, Avoca; nine grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; a brother, Herb (Charlotte) Brookens, Prairie du Chien; brothers-in-law, Gerald Myhre, Belmont, and Jerome (Myrna) Myhre, Georgetown, TX; a sister-in-law, Virginia Howard, Whitehall; and other loving relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin; her parents; a sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Myhre; a brother-in-law, Milton Howard; and a niece, Julie.

Funeral Services were held at 12 noon on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bloomington, with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Friends called from 10 am until the start of services Saturday at the church. Burial was at Blakes Prairie Cemetery, Bloomington. Martin Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Bloomington is serving the family. In lieu of plants and flowers, memorials are preferred to West Grant Rescue Squad or Bagley First Responders.
